Within these pages we hope that you will find all the information you will need about both the Club and our beloved breed. Should you have any questions, please feel free to drop us a note. Also, please make sure to sign our guestbook. We like to know who visits us!
Recognized by the CKC in 1980, the CBC is a growing national club currently focused on expanding
membership, encouraging the sharing of information and expertise within the Bloodhound community,
providing the public with education on the Bloodhound breed and helping members better understand and
enjoy the superior character of these gentle creatures. Membership currently numbers 33. This energetic group participates in a wide array of activities, from mounting CKC shows and fun matches to hosting trailing events and seminars, health clinics and judges seminars. The Club operates a rescue program to assist Bloodhounds in need and offers a breeder referral service. Whether members’ interests lie in breeding, the show ring, on a wooded trail or enhancing the pleasure of pet ownership, the Club’s Bloodhounds North publication provides excellent, informative perspectives for veterans and neophytes alike.
It also contains reports on regional issues and events from the provincial directors, as well as newsworthy national coverage. The newsletter is published quarterly. Guests are welcome to attend the Annual General Membership meeting (usually held during our National Specialty). Annual membership dues (for 2002) are $30 for an individual or family membership within Canada, or $40 for an individual or family membership outside of Canada.
New membership applicants shall be sponsored by an active member in
good standing with The Canadian Bloodhound Club. New members will be
presented to the General membership via newsletter for a 30 day approval
waiting period. If no objections to a new applicant are received within
30 days of publishing the new applicant’s request to join the club, then
the new applicant will be duly processed. This new member shall receive
full voting privileges as an active member in good standing with the
Canadian Bloodhound Club.
Each applicant must apply yearly on a Canadian Bloodhound Club approved
application form, which shall provide that the applicant agrees to abide
by the Constitution/Bylaws and Rules of the Club, including the Code
of Ethics.
